Christmas with Iowa Wesleyan: Let There Be Peace!

FREE WILL DONATIONS AT THE DOOR: Performance Time: 7:00 PM

Celebrate the holiday season and Christmas with Iowa Wesleyan University and their performance of Let There Be Peace!  A Service of Lessons & Carols. 

 

The program will feature over 120 musicians – including the Iowa Wesleyan Choir, Primae Voces, the Mt. Pleasant Chorale, the IW Brass, members of the SEISO Chamber Orchestra and musicians from Washington HIgh School.

 

This very traditional lessons and carols service will certainly be a highlight of this year’s Christmas season.  A reception will follow in the high school commons. 

 

This concert will be open to everyone free of charge.  A fee will donation may be given when entering the auditorium lobby.

Talent needed!  We are currently accepting contestant registrations for “In the Spotlight.”  This talent show will feature area acts to be held as a fundraising event for the Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center.  Singers, actors, dancers, magicians, instrumentalists, gymnasts, etc. of all ages are encouraged to participate.

An Evening of Improv

GENERAL ADMISSION: Adults $10, Students $5 Performance Time: 7:30 PM

Improvisational theater is alive and thriving in the Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center. Students and adults alike will enjoy quick-witted comedy bursting to life on stage via seasoned comedic actors. There will even be opportunities for audience participation! 

 

Featured will be Washington alumni: Eric Hanson, Vern Miller, Greg Wiley and Chris Hanson.  Additionally, there will be a guest performance featuring performers from the Improv Incubator as seen at Penguin's Comedy Club of Cedar Rapids.  Don’t miss this opportunity to unwind, laugh and expand your creative genius!  This will be an evening of great comedy and improvisational theater at the Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center!

The Magic Flute – by W. A. Mozart

Come along as Tamino and Papageno embark on a quest to save the kidnapped Princess Pamina at the command of the evil Queen of the Night. With the help of a magical flute and set of bells, their journey leads them to Sarastro's temple where a series of trials and tests await them. This 90-minute family friendly production is sung in English and full of some of Mozart's most famous tunes!
